Lady Gagas Controversial Judas Video to Appear on Family Friendly American Idol

From whisperings that Lady Gaga's 'Judas' music video would push the envelope more than ever, we were more than surprised to hear that the titillating video would premiere during a live broadcast of 'American Idol, according to MTV.

Interscope Records announced that the video would be released May 2 during the talent show and according to Gaga's creative director, Laurieann Gibson, it promises to be nothing short of "groundbreaking."

In the video, Gaga will play Mary Magdalene and actor, Norman Reedus, will play Judas. A concept that is reportedly a toned down version of the video's initial concept that was too religiously charged -- although Gaga playing the virgin Mary doesn't seem to be too much of a step back from the controversial original.

Nonetheless, every Scotty McCreery-crushing tween will undoubtedly get an eyeful of Gaga whether they [or their parents] like it or not.

Gibson, who told MTV that the video "is ultimately a representation of [she and Gaga's] true bond," said that the video is "really going to shock the world."

A few weeks ago, Gibson admitted that she initially considered walking away from the video project because it was potentially offensive. Although the creative duo have apparently toned down the video, if it wasn't the least bit controversial, it wouldn't be Gaga.

Beyonce Will Not Perform at Royal Wedding

Despite rumors that Jay-Z and Beyonce are set to make a special appearance at Prince William and Kate Middleton's reception to perform their wedding favorite 'Crazy in Love' this Friday (April 29), it appears that hip-hop's royal couple are skipping the event.

The power couple, currently on vacation in Paris, were rumored to be in talks with the Prince, but according to Beyonce's rep, no such performance by the former Destiny's Child frontwoman will occur. Her rep went on to explain that the songstress has a photo shoot on Saturday (April 30) in New York.

While Jay's plans are still unknown, it is doubtful that he would appear at the reception solo. Regardless, there will be plenty of stars and entertainers in attendance at the royal wedding, including Bollywood dancers Sandip and Jesse Soparrkar, who will be playing the last dance at Buckingham Palace after the wedding dinner, and Sir Paul McCartney, who will also be performing.

Jay-Z and Beyonce spent Easter Sunday (April 24) in Paris, France, eating brunch at Hotel Fouquet's Barrière in the City of Light.

The rapper and his wife reportedly spent $20,000 per night to rest their heads in a penthouse suite at Le Meurice Hotel. But their jaunt overseas hasn't been all about leisure and frivolous spending. Jay-Z reportedly met with Kanye West to put in work on their joint album 'Watch the Throne.'

Lollapalooza 2011 Lineup Announced: Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse

It was no secret that Lollapalooza will return to its familiar home of Grant Park in Chicago this summer, as it celebrates its 20th anniversary -- but the lineup is in, the rumors were right and the verdict is two thumbs up. Way up. This year's headliners for the annual, three-day, mega-fest are: Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse, My Morning Jacket, deadmou5 and A Perfect Circle, with additional marquee slots by Cee Lo Green, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley & Nas, the Cars and Ween.

The above acts will anchor a lineup that, in true Lollapalooza style, is as varied as it is impressive -- bands range in size from upstarts (Smith Westerns) to dinosaurs (Big Audio Dynamite) and cross all sorts of niche genres from instrumental post-rock (Explosions in the Sky) to post-punk dubstep (Skrillex). Of course, the full lineup demands its due, but some of the other bands that we'd be remiss not to mention at the top include: Bright Eyes, Death From Above 1979, Arctic Monkeys, Beirut, Cold War Kids, Deftones, Crystal Castles, Atmosphere and the Kills.

"As excited as I am to watch this year's legends perform at Lolla, I am also feeling the enthusiasm for the younger groups who are just now breaking," said festival founder Perry Farrell, in a statement released to the press. "I take great delight in knowing that for the past 20 years we've given so many new artists a prestigious stage and a massive audience to play in front of."

In other words, the festival still has its finger on the pulse, this year inviting bands such as Titus Andronicus, the Vaccines, Foster the People, Portugal. The Man, Best Coast, Cults, Tennis, J. Roddy Walston and the Business, and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals along for the ride.

In recent years, the festival has been steadily building Perry's -- an electronic-centric showcase tent curated by Farrell himself and catering, this year, to what he describes as "muscular beats." Acts slated for the newly expanded tent, which will hold 15,000 bouncing and flailing fans, include Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Kid Cudi and Glitch Mob.

In an increasing trend for major music festivals, while the lineup was just announced, early-bird tickets are already sold out. All other three-day tickets are on sale now; check out the official Lollapalooza website to peep the deets. And remember, while the festival takes place on August 5 - 7, you should probably start hoarding sunscreen now. Grant Park is notoriously hotter than the Empire Polo Fields. Seriously.

Music

Music is an art form whose medium is sound. Common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike), "(art) of the Muses".

The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of music vary according to culture and social context. Music ranges from strictly organized compositions (and their recreation in performance), through improvisational music to aleatoric forms. Music can be divided into genres and subgenres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to individual interpretation, and occasionally controversial. Within "the arts", music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art, and auditory art.

To many people in many cultures music is an important part of their way of life. Greek philosophers and ancient Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as "the harmony of the spheres" and "it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is often ordered and pleasant to listen to. However, 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound."[2] According to musicologist Jean-Jacques Nattiez, "the border between music and noise is always culturally defined—which implies that, even within a single society, this border does not always pass through the same place; in short, there is rarely a consensus.... By all accounts there is no single and intercultural universal concept defining what music might be, except that it is 'sound through time'.

About Entertainment

Entertainment is an activity designed to give people a diversion. It is usually conducted in one's free time. An audience may participate in the entertainment passively as in watching opera or a movie, or actively as in games.

The playing of sports and reading of literature could be considered a form of entertainment, but these are more often called recreation, because they involve some active participation.

The industry that provides entertainment is called the entertainment industry.

The entertainment industry (also informally known as show business or show biz) consists of a large number of sub-industries devoted to entertainment. However, the term is often used in the mass media to describe the mass media companies that control the distribution and manufacture of mass media entertainment. In the popular parlance, the term show biz in particular connotes the commercially popular performing arts, especially musical theatre, vaudeville, comedy, film, and music.
